Thanks for coming out and spending time with the students. They loved it!!

Thanks guys! DRAGG is one of the best organizations, making a real difference in the lives of local youth. I am sure they were inspired by you.

Oxnard Firefighters have had a busy few weeks as several fires have burned across California. Our firefighters were part of several planned strike teams, responded immediate need for the Initial Attack phase, and were plugged in as single resources on these incidents as well. We provided mutual aid as far north as the Kincade Fire and as far south as the Getty Fire. We appreciate all of the support from the public, and thank all of our members, not only those who were out of town protecting our neighbors, but those who held it down in our own city as well. Stay safe, we are happy to help! #iafflocal1684 ... See MoreSee Less

RIP Brother John. πŸ₯ΊIt is with a heavy heart that we share the news of the passing of Captain John Van Mannekes this morning just after 4:30am. John joined the department in May, 1996, and retired in July, 2017, to continue his hard fought battle with ALS. Please keep Rebecca, Jonathan, and Jamison in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time. John was a dedicated father, husband, and Firefighter who held a deep passion for the Fire Service and a commitment to developing new Firefighters.

Our Fire Family grieves with many today, as John was well known and respected throughout the Fire Service. Our thoughts and prayers are with the Van Mannekes family now and always. Thank you, Captain Van Mannekes, for everything.

In Sympathy,
David Endaya, Fire Chief

President Doug Stuart and Secretary/Treasurer Ulises Castellanos accompanied the Carroll family at the California Firefighter Memorial in Sacramento.
Captain Scott Carroll’s name was added to this wall of heroes during the 2016 memorial.
Going to the roof with a gorgeous sunset sky behind your firefighters. There’s beauty in everything.
On this night...18 years ago, 246 people went to sleep in preparation for their morning flights. 2,606 people went to sleep in preparation for work in the morning tomorrow. 343 firefighters went to sleep in preparation for their morning shift. 60 police officers went to sleep in preparation for morning patrol. 8 paramedics went to sleep in preparation for the morning shift of saving lives. None of them saw past 10:00 am Sept 11, 2001.
In one single moment life may never be the same. As you live and enjoy the breaths you take today and tonight before you go to sleep in preparation for your life tomorrow, kiss the ones you love, snuggle a little tighter, and never take one second of your life for granted.Never forget. πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ

Our local fire departments have come together to host a special event for our local firefighters and their significant others. In our line of work we learn to help others, but may also need to learn strategies to take care of ourselves. Please join us for some comradery and a special speaker afterwards. Hope you can take part and enjoy this event.
We’re starting our Annual Breast Cancer Awareness Fundraiser. Please join us in helping raise money to donate to Ribbons of Life, a local breast cancer awareness foundation.
Prayers to the fallen. RIP.
