Earlier today, Engine 61 was dispatched to an animal in distress call. There they found a hawk who appeared to have serious injuries.
The crew safely secured the hawk, kept it safe at the fire station, and turned it over to the The Ojai Raptor Center
We hope our friend makes a fast recovery. πŸ¦…

Wishing everyone a safe and happy 4th!
One of the best parts of our job are the connections we experience when helping our fellow citizens in their times of needs.
During good times, bad times, budget surplus, and budget cuts.....we are honored to serve our community. Whether or not the Mayor and City Council cut fire services in the upcoming fiscal year, we will be here to serve you the best we can with the limited resources provided to us by the city. We love to serve our wonderfully diverse community.
Today we honor, and remember, those that made the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom. πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ
Something to think about as we cope with this as a community. Everyone is hurting in some way. Cuts to essential services should not be considered at this time though. Let your city manager and council members know that you do not support cuts to Public Safety. Photo credit: πŸ“Έ @paulcombs
We’re here for you during these trying times. Stay safe, stay vigilant, and stay kind to each other.
Our hearts are heavy for our family in blue. RIP Officer Nathan Martin. πŸ’™
We want to wish everyone a Happy and Safe Thanksgiving. Continuing the spirit of the holiday season we would like to invite you to come support a great cause this weekend. We will be at Cronies in Camarillo on Saturday November 30th from 11AM til 10PM for the 5th Annual “Happy Birthday Mason” Toy Drive. Make sure you bring an unwrapped toy to donate!! We hope to see you there.
Today we participated in the 2019 Ventura County Firefighter Memorial Ceremony. Thank you to our Honor Guard Members, Crews, and off duty personnel that were able to attend and show their support. #OxnardFirefighters #iaffl1684 #oxnardfiredepartment

President Doug Stuart and Secretary/Treasurer Ulises Castellanos accompanied the Carroll family at the California Firefighter Memorial in Sacramento. Captain Scott Carroll’s name was added to this wall of heroes during the 2016 memorial.
Going to the roof with a gorgeous sunset sky behind your firefighters. There’s beauty in everything.
On this night...18 years ago, 246 people went to sleep in preparation for their morning flights. 2,606 people went to sleep in preparation for work in the morning tomorrow. 343 firefighters went to sleep in preparation for their morning shift. 60 police officers went to sleep in preparation for morning patrol. 8 paramedics went to sleep in preparation for the morning shift of saving lives. None of them saw past 10:00 am Sept 11, 2001. In one single moment life may never be the same. As you live and enjoy the breaths you take today and tonight before you go to sleep in preparation for your life tomorrow, kiss the ones you love, snuggle a little tighter, and never take one second of your life for granted. Never forget. πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ
We are very grateful to have partnered with Ventura County Ribbons of Life. This year Oxnard Firefighters were able to raise over $6000 for this great cause. Thanks to everyone that donated and helped this year’s campaign be a success. #oxnardfirefightersfoundation #ribbonsoflife #oxnardfiredepartment #redrobbin #venturacountycreditunion #oxnardfirefightersassociation #iaff
Our prayers out to Ventura County Sheriff Sergeant Helus and to those senselessly killed in last nights’ tragedy. RIP πŸ™πŸ½
Our local fire departments have come together to host a special event for our local firefighters and their significant others. In our line of work we learn to help others, but may also need to learn strategies to take care of ourselves. Please join us for some comradery and a special speaker afterwards. Hope you can take part and enjoy this event.
We’re starting our Annual Breast Cancer Awareness Fundraiser. Please join us in helping raise money to donate to Ribbons of Life, a local breast cancer awareness foundation.
Prayers to the fallen. RIP.
Today we mourn with our Brothers and Sisters of the Long Beach Fire Department on the passing of Captain Dave Rosa. Captain Rosa was a 17 year veteran of the Long Beach Fire Department and was senselessly killed while responding to an emergency in the City of Long Beach. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family during this difficult time.
We’re issuing you the challenge! Think you can make it? Register at Active.com and test your stamina and will!
Today Oxnard Firefighters and their families assisted Habitat for Humanity with a project in the La Colonia neighborhood. Thanks for letting us lend a hand! Habitat for Humanity of Ventura County
